IBMCs in 2012

IBMCs in 2012

This year was our most productive year so far and we would like to extend our thanks and love to everyone who followed our progress and supported us we continue to integrate, elevate and innovate Hip Hop culture globally.

As well as printing our first T-shirts, we continued to publish interviews and reviews, in 2012 with RA Rugged Man (US), DJ Modesty (France), Black Marvel (Netherlands), and Lainen Kaspari and Jonti & Shaka (Finland). We continued to expand our beat making collective to include a fantastic number of exceptional producers who took their time to bless us with beats and biographies including Kid Sundance, Muneshine, Chemo, Kid Tsunami & Oath One to name a few.

We are about to release the third EP of our Worldwide Remix series produced by long time affiliates Seb da Head and Obo One featuring Templedon, Venice & Toast, Solar-C & Eric IQ. Also for this project we have been blessed with amazing remixes from Aslan, Kid Tsunami, DJ Grazzhoppa, ICBM, and Kid Crate Digger.

Our debut video with Viva Fidel, MC Lazy & Bukue One (produced by Esh) was also finished this year and we would like to thanks everyone involved in making that happen. It is the first video of our World is Listening project and despite working without budget and various setbacks it has been very well received. We look forward to more and better video projects next year.

Another exciting moment this year was to be involved with George Field’s debut vinyl album release (review), From the Sticks (UTS Records), an instrumental project which IBMCs is super proud to endorse and help distribute through our networks and have our logo on the vinyl. The next UTS release, will also be IBMCs endorsed so stay tuned for more exciting revelations and look out for the IBMCs logo on some of what we think will be the best Hip Hop releases in 2013.

In the summer, IBMCs was also extremely proud to connect with our affiliates Da Shogunz crew from the Netherlands at the release of the DJ Propo’88 & BlabberMouf album, From The Top of The Stack (review), which many are now calling the Hip Hop album of the year. We were also very happy to see our affiliates and friends DXA from NYC and look forward to their release on Blunted Astronaut. IBMCs is also building strong ties with Aslan so watch for forthcoming Twelve Jewels/IBMCs collaborations.

There were too many other dope releases to mention here, but rest assured our organization never sleeps and we have many plenty of tricks up our sleeve for 2013…
